The Newark Water Coalition wants to help protect your family by offering FREE in-home lead paint inspections and repairs for qualifying Newark residents.

 

This service is at no-cost to renters or landlords!

 

Sign up for your free lead paint inspection using our intake form  

A NWC team member will call you to schedule an appointment. If lead paint is present in your home, NWC will cover all construction costs for remediation

 

What you should know about lead poisoning:

  • Exposure to lead can cause serious damage to a child's developing brain, negatively affects academic performance, and increases all types of learning disabilities

  • Children under the age of 6 are most at risk for lead poisoning

  • 60-80% of lead poisonings are caused by lead based paint & lead contaminated dust

  • Children with lead in their blood are 7 times more likely to be involved with the juvenile justice system

  • Screen any child 3 years of age or older at least once before their 6th birthday if they have not been screened at the age of 1 and 2

 

How do you qualify?

  • Your household income is within the low-to-moderate income limit

  • You live in a one-to-four-unit home/apartment built before 1978

  • Lead-based paint is found after initial home inspection
